Medical Facilities/ Fist Aid

  • All the students seeking admission to the hostel will be medically examined by the Authorised Medical Practioner of the School ,in case of any serious aliments admission can be withheld.
  • Two resident nurses are available in the hostel premises with first aid facility. Residents suffering from minor aliments will be attended by School Doctor.
  • All residents must report major illness to the authorities. Emergency cases will be evacuated to the nearest hospital/ Nursing Home in the school vehicle at any time.
  • Expenditure on the treatment of the Resident over and above the amount deposited for the purpose will be billed to the Parent of the Resident.

Hostel Rules

  • Cooking of food in the rooms are prohibited.
  • Every resident is responsible for the care and upkeep of the hostel property he/she uses. Residents found responsible for any damage or loss of the hostel property will be fined individually or collectively as the case may be.
  • The residents must not remove any property from the Dining Hall, Common Room or the Visitors Room.
  • The residents must not tamper with the electrical fixtures in their rooms.
  • Possession of electrical gadgets ( like Heater, Immersion Rod, Radio, Tape Recorder etc) is prohibited.
  • Residents are requested to switch off lights when not required.
  • No resident is permitted to take away his/her belongings from the hostel premises without a proper gate pass signed by the warden/manager.
  • Hostel shall not be responsible for any damage or loss of personal belongings of the resident.
  • Residents should ensure that their rooms are kept neat and clean and sanitation is maintained in toilets/bathrooms .They must not litter corridors and other hostel premises.
  • Residents will not indulge in any monetary transactions.
  • Ragging is strictly prohibited.
  • Residents must not enter the kitchen or argue with hostel staff. Suggestions, complaints if any will be given to the warden. Courtesy to all the staff is expected from every resident.
  • Any resident found guilty of misconduct or violating the rules will be warned. The manager and warden have full authority to issue warnings to the residents. After two warnings residents will be asked to leave the hostel.

Discipline

  • Boarders who return late after holidays should inform the Principal on phone / Fax / Telegram / Email or in writing before the school resumes otherwise a fine will be imposed.
  • During Outing, visiting out of bound area is strictly prohibited. This may result in suspension or any other disciplinary action.
  • Use or possession of lighters, cigarette holders, pipes, cigarettes, tobacco, alcoholic drinks, drugs, etc. are strictly prohibited. Defaulters will be removed from the hostel without any hearing.
  • Misconduct & Residents who forge parents/local guardian’s signaturewill be dealt with appropriately.

Leave rules

  • Local Guardians are permitted take out the Residents on Out-Pass during Holidays with prior permission of the Warden.
  • Local Guardians are also permitted to take out the Residents on Night-Pass during Long Holidays with prior permission of the Warden.
  • Residents who are permitted Out-Pass/Night-Pass should be back in the hostel latest by 5.00 p.m. Violation of time schedule will lead to cancellation of future outing. More than three violations of this Rule may force the authorities to expel the resident.
  • Under compelling circumstances, a resident can be granted leave of
    absence not exceeding 10 days by Principal.

Local Guardians and Visitors

  • Every resident’s local guardian will be introduced to the warden-in-
    charge of the hostel by the parents at the time of admission.
  • Parents are also required to introduce other relations in Kalimpong to the hostel management at the time of admission, who may be permitted to visit the applicant. It is essential that the particulars of such relatives are available with the wardens.
  • Those who are accepted as residents to the hostel will report to the warden/manager at the hostel office on the date intimated to them.
  • Hostel remains closed only during winter holidays. Firm dates of closure will be intimated in advance vide circular/school calendar.
  • The hostel administration reserves the right to deny entry to any visitors into the hostel.
  • Not more than three persons shall be allowed as approved visitors. Parents any send a notice directly to the manager / warden if they desire any change in the list of approved visitors.
  • No guests are permitted to stay in the hostel.

Visitors timings

  • Visits will be allowed on Saturday, Sunday and on holidays.
    a. Morning - 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon
    b. Afternoon - 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.
  • Note:
    a. Only those visitors who are / have been authorised by the parents will be allowed to meet the Resident.
    b. Specimen signatures of all approved visitors must be recorded on the visitor’s form.
    c. The visitors with an Authority Letter from the parents of the resident will be permitted to visit the Residents with the permission of the warden .
    d. Persons whose names are not on the list of approved visitors, may meet the resident with prior permission of the Warden.
    e. Without prior permission of the Warden, Residents are not allowed to leave the hostel complex with the visitors .



Withdrawals

  • If the child is withdrawn/expelled from the school, he/she will automatically deemed to be withdrawn from the hostel as well. All other deposits including security will be forfeited.
  • Any boarders withdrawn from the hostel will have to be withdrawn from the school as well. He/she will have to re-apply for admission against a day scholar's vacancy. The hostel security amount will be forfeited and three months boarding fees from the date of withdrawal will be charged.
  • Students involved in fights, drugs/alcohol, stealing will incur automatic expulsion.
