SCHOOL EXAMINATION SCHEME

[Applicable to Class Nursery to Class I]
[i] Scheme of the Continuous Assessment Test (CAT) for Nursery to Class I
There will be 5 CAT’s of 10 marks each and 1 Annual Examination of 50 marks. The total marks of all the CAT’s and Annual Examination will add upto 100 marks.

[ii] Promotion Criteria
Student must pass in English Language and English Literature and can fail in upto two remaining subjects.

[iii] Ranking system
a) The students are clubbed into two groups (i) Student that have passed as per the criteria (ii) students that have failed as per the criteria. Then, within the groups, the students are sorted as per their aggregate in descending order. Finally, the ranks are awarded in ascending order to the descending order of the aggregate obtained by the student to the first group of students (passed) and then to the second group of students (failed).
b) Students having the same aggregate are given the same rank. The subsequent ranks are skipped in order to keep the class strength true.

 

[Applicable to Class II to Class V]
[i] Scheme of the Continuous Assessment Test (CAT)
a) There will be 5 CATs and 1 Annual Examination.
b) CAT1, CAT2 and CAT3 will be subject based CATs.
c) CAT4 and CAT5 will be spelling based CATs.
d) All the CATs will be out of 20 marks except CAT2 which will be out of 40 marks and the Annual Examination will be out of 50 marks.
e) Duration of the tests are as follows:
(i) CAT1, CAT3, CAT4 and CAT5 will be of 1 period duration
(ii) CAT2 will be of 1 hour duration
(iii) Annual Examination will be 1 ½ hour duration
f) CAT1 & CAT4 will start from first week of March and will be completed before the Half Yearly Examination of the Senior School.
g) During the Half yearly Examination of the Senior School, CAT2 will be conducted.
h) CAT3 and CAT5 will start after summer holidays and end before the Annual Examination.
i) Two report cards will be generated, whose description are as follows.
(i) Mid-Session Report Card (containing the marks of CAT1, CAT2 and CAT4)
(i) Annual Report Card (containing the marks of all the CATs and Annual Examination.)

[ii] Promotion Criteria
Student must pass in English (Average of English Language and English Literature) and can fail in upto two of the remaining subjects to be declared as pass and therefore promoted to the next higher class.

[iii] Ranking system
a) The students are clubbed into two groups (i) Student that have passed as per the criteria (ii) students that have failed as per the criteria. [Applicable to Class VI to Class XII]
[i] Scheme of Continuation Assessment Test (CAT)
a) There will be a total of 6 assessment tests
b) 4 will be CATs which will be called CAT1, CAT2, CAT3 & CAT4
c) The remaining 2 will be Half Yearly Exam and Annual Exam.
d) The CATs will be out of 25 marks each while the Half Yearly and Annual will be out of 100 marks.
e) CAT1 and CAT2 will be completed before Half Yearly and CAT3 and CAT4 will be completed before Annual Examination.
f) The CATs will be held at a frequency of one or two subjects per week.
g) Four report cards will be generated per year. The report card will contain details of
(i) CAT1 and CAT2 combined
(ii) Half Yearly Examination
(iii) CAT3 and CAT4 combined
(iv) Annual Examination
h) Class XI will appear for CAT3, CAT4 and Annual Examinations. The scheme for class XI is the same as above except for the following.
(i) Weightage of 20% will be given to the marks obtained in CAT3 and CAT4 combined and 80% to the marks obtained in Annual Examinations.

BOARD EXAMINATION SCHEME
The school is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE). The ICSE examinations is conducted for students after completing class X and the ISC examinations is conducted for students after completing class XII. The pass marks for ICSE and ISC is 35% and 40% respectively. To successfully clear the ICSE examinations, the student must pass in English and any four subejcts while to successfully clear the ISC examinations the student must pass in English and any three subjects. The streams and subjects offered are given below. Please note that division is not awarded by CISCE.
